Recession, recession, recession... Housing, housing, housing... Interest rates, interest rates...
Well, you get the idea. Everyone is talking about it. But far less people are willing to take it a step further and start mentioning the big D: DEPRESSION!!!
There's probably a reason for that. Though our economic problems run rampant at the moment, to the point where most Americans believe this is the worst state our economy's been in since the Big One, there is little sign that we're slinking toward depression... at least from a GDP stance.
One of our partners' blogs goes into detail about the nature of recession vs. depression. He provides a number of quality links to articles detailing all the problems our economy is facing and the likelihood of it getting worse before it gets better. But he doesn't flat out say we're heading for a depression; rather, he leaves that up to the readers to judge for themselves.
Check out this excellent blog entry on recession, depression, and the state of our economy here.
If the nation is indeed in a recession, or even headed for depression, we're seeing no signs of it here at Docucopies. In fact, business is doing quite well, thank you very much. Of course, as other industries take hits, this could generate more business for companies like Docucopies. When less people are buying homes, Realtors need to be more competitive with their advertising and branding endeavors. Where do they go, what to they do, to accomplish this? Print more flyers at Docucopies.com!
Not that we relish in the suffering of others. That would be un-American, even inhuman. In fact, we like to think we're actually helping those whose businesses are hurting due to the perceived recession. After all, these companies would be printing their fliers, newsletters, promotional materials, etc., anyway, right? And instead of paying the maintenance costs of doing it in-house, or getting ripped off by the Big Three (Kinko's, Staples, and Office Depot), they're saving nearly 1,000% on their color copies by coming to us.
We have no plans to raise our prices in lieu of the economic slump, and would do so only as a last resort. So you can count on Docucopies to help you and your business through the good times and the bad. And when the economy turns around and America's back on top, we'll be right there beside you nurturing the soil, sowing the seeds, and reaping the spoils.
