For several years in a row, Docucopies.com has sponsored the Gala Fundraiser Dinner and Silent Auction held by Urban Arts Academy.
This organization does many wonderful things for kids in South Minneapolis involving after-school and summer arts programs. Their after-school programs are free of charge and currently serve over 80 kids, ranging from pre-school to middle-school ages. This includes art instruction, mentorship, and academic tutoring, including homework help.
These programs are especially important in this neighborhood, which has a history of high crime and no shortage of ways for kids to get into trouble. Through Urban Arts Academy, area youth are able to focus their energy on something they truly love and enjoy -- art!
They also have summer arts programs at very low costs, with scholarships available for those who need it.
We believe education in the arts and humanities is absolutely key to a well-rounded and quality education for kids of all ages, and we're proud to be sponsors and donors to this great organization.
