Help Japan

As you surely know, the nation of Japan is still suffering from the earthquake and resulting tsunami that hit the island on March 11. International aid and support is coming in, but there is always more work to be done.

Please consider helping the people of Japan recover from this devastating crisis. We've pooled together just a few of the ways you can help give relief to those still struggling to get back on their feet. (Note that we are not affiliated with any of the following organizations -- we're simply providing a brief starting point for those who want to help.)

Save the Children - Japan

This major natural disaster has caused large scale damage along Japan's east coast. We are extremely concerned for the welfare of children and their families who have been affected by the disaster. We stand ready to meet the needs of children who are always the most vulnerable in a disaster.

Donate now to the Japan Earthquake Tsunami Children in Emergency Fund to support Save the Children's responses to children's ongoing and urgent needs.

MercyCorps

Mercy Corps is working to help survivors of Japan's earthquake and tsunami in cooperation with our longstanding partner, Peace Winds.

Peace Winds continues to deliver emergency supplies — including large shelters, tents, blankets, instant rice and fresh produce — to families evacuated from homes in the tsunami-devastated city of Kesennuma. Mercy Corps has deployed our emergency team leader to help Peace Winds coordinate its lifesaving response.

Your donation will be used to meet immediate and longer-term needs of families affected by this disaster.

Red Cross

Your gift to the American Red Cross will support our disaster relief efforts to help those affected by the earthquake in Japan and tsunami throughout the Pacific. On those rare occasions when donations exceed American Red Cross expenses for a specific disaster, contributions are used to prepare for and serve victims of other disasters.

There are many other organizations and charities working to bring relief to Japan, these are just a few of the ones whose names are widely known and trusted. Feel free to do your own due diligence in finding a group that you feel comfortable contributing to!
